Older brother Lampie. . .
Hopefully my new lamp will get along with my old one. Here is an older yellow lamp I got for $5.99 at Thrift Town. I added a new lampshade. Everyone suggested getting a dark lampshade, but I am into the clean white look.

A crackling base
Here is a close up for the lamp I just found. I love the cracks under the glaze. Not sure what this effect is called. . . .But super pretty.

A new lamp. . .
I think a bonus to living in San Francisco is the tendency for people to leave unwanted things on the street (though I would never take a pillow or a couch, too scared of bedbugs!). Like this beautiful yellow lamp for example that I found literally 20 feet from my home. I know it looks very similar to my other yellow lamp. But they are very distinct. Now the two lamps match!

vanity
Besides my bed there is really only one piece of furniture I'd like to keep in my room and this is a vanity I got for $80 at that place the Touch (or maybe it is called A Touch of Class?) on Valencia. I want to go more modern but still keep this vanity. Maybe I can get a vanity chair, and cover it with fabric.
One thing that doesn't need a makeover. . .
That would be the built-in sink right when you enter my bedroom. I inherited the room (and the sink) from my friend (and former roommate) who inspired me to start this blog. Check out her makeover of an entire house at her blog thecabinhouse
Oh how I love this sink.

The before pics. . .
To every makeover story there are always the "before" shots. Usually the "befores" include acne scars and size 45 pants. My room doesn't have acne scars but it does need a makeover. Here is the entrance to my bedroom. It's time for a makeover. I love the hardwood floors and the crown mouldings, but the room needs to feel like it is mine.
